YOUR JOURNEY DAY BY DAY
After landing at Colombo, you will meet an Asia experiences guide/representative with a placard in the arrival section. He/she will lead you to your beach hotel in Negombo. Also popular as Cinnamon, (a name, given in the Dutch era) Negombo is famous for its beautiful churches. In the way to your hotel, you will be given a brief orientation about the touring programs of Srilanka. You can visit some of the nearby destinations from Negombo today in your spare time here. You will be visiting the Sigiriya fortress (UNESCO world heritage site) and the surrounding attractions today. After breakfast, we will head towards the Pinnawela Elephant orphanage, one of the must be placed in Srilanka. If you are in the right time of the day, you can feed the baby elephants here too. After some quality time near nature in Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, we will head towards the Rock Fortress of Sigiriya. The fortress and the surrounding lake complex is an ideal place to explore and witness the history, art, and culture of the ancient-medieval period in Sri Lanka. The main fortress of Sigiriya is carved in a massive column of rock (nearly 200 meters high) and is a natural gallery of many ancient paintings. Overnight at Sigiriya.
After Breakfast, you will have a short drive to the old capital of Sri Lanka, Anuradhapura. This city is one of the most visited places in Sri Lanka and is a repository of majestic Sri Lankan architecture and history. Anuradhapura is also listed as the UNESCO world heritage site list, and we will visit some of the must-see destinations here. We will start our city tour with the visit to the Oldest historically documented tree in the World; Sri Maha Bodhi. From here we will make a circuit visiting Dagobas, Ruwanwelisaya, Brazen Palace, and Jetwana Monasteries. In Jetwana, we can witness the finely preserved rock-cut statues/sculptures of Lord Buddha surrounded by ancient ruins of this place. After lunch, we will visit the Isurumuniya Rock temple. This temple is situated in a small cliff with many legends are told about the area and surrounding ponds. Overnight at Anuradhapura.
We will drive to Kandy via Dambulla today. The cave temples of Golden Rock in Dambulla is our intermediate stop where we will spend some time. The cave temple is listed as the UNESCO world heritage site and is one of the most preserved cave temples in the world. We can explore the Sculptures of Buddha and many other ancient components alongside the views of surrounding landscape here. The Dambulla is famous for its high-quality spice gardens in Srilanka. With multiple varieties of organic spices making its way to different cuisine in the world, you can treat yourself by visiting one of the local resturants. Overnight at Kandy.
We will leave early from Kandy and head towards the Peradeniya Botanical garden today. This garden is one of the most extensive collections of different herbs, flowers, and trees in Sri Lanka. Among many other beautiful attractions of the garden, some best bits constitute of the Century-old Javan fig tree, Giant bamboos from Burma, land the cannonball tree. You can also explore the vast garden of tropical flowers from all around the world. After some time in the garden we will continue our drive back to Colombo. You will take a flight of about an hour and a half leaving Srilanka to your next destination as Dhaka. After landing in Dhaka, you will meet our representative/guide from Asia experienced and head towards your hotel. Depending upon the time, you have left today, you can visit some of the major attractions near Dhaka. The colorful flower market, Lalbagh Fort, the temple of Dakeshwari, the Parliament House, Pink Palace (Ahsan Manzil), and Dhaka University is the shortlisted places you can visit today. Try some Bengali style dinner here in some local restaurants and rest for the day. Overnight at Dhaka.
After breakfast, we will drive to the airport and fly to Rajshahi today. From the airport, we'll start our drive towards the historical Paharpur. In the way we can stop briefly to visit the Kusumba Mosque. This mosque was built in the period of 14th to the 16th century, and the architecture and stone-carved art here reflects the components of that era. We will drive to the UNESCO world heritage site of Somapura Mahavihara after some time, which is the main attraction of Paharpur. This site is the most significant archeological sites in Bangladesh. The remains of walls enclose many statues, inscriptions, terracotta Plaques, coins, and ceramics aging back to the 4th century or older. A traditional Buddhist stupa lies in its center. We can also visit the tribal villages and witness the local lifestyle of Paharpur afterward. From here, we will continue our drive to the Bogra city today. Overnight at Bogra.
In our Bogra tour, we will primarily visit three of the major archeological sites in this part of Bangladesh. We will also spend some time in the local village areas. Mahasthangrah with Govinda Bhita, Gokul Medh, and Basu Bihar are our three significant sites of today. Each of these three archeological sites holds many historical remains of the palace, monasteries, and people situated in these areas. These findings and components age from the period of the 3rd to the 7th century. With our local guide, you will know all the essential information about these places. Afterward, we can try some of the regional cuisines in the local villages surrounding these areas too. After the Bogra visit, we will start our drive back to Rajshahi.
After reaching Rajshahi, we will visit the Puthia temple near the city. It is a complex with one of the most extensive collections of historic Hindu temples in Bangladesh. The temples here are centuries old with beautiful wood/stone carvings and sculptures. The architecture of Puthiya temple is inspired mainly by Jor-Bangla and Jaipuri style. After a brief exploration, we will return to our hotel in Rajshahi. Overnight at Rajshahi.
The city of Rajshahi was and is famous all over the world for high-quality Rajshahi silk production. In our brief time in Rajshahi, we will visit some of the major destinations here before our flight back to Dhaka. We will visit the central park of Rajshahi after our breakfast. The park and zoo is a great place to loosen a bit and enjoy a peaceful time here. You can explore the local bazaar area and try some of the delicacies witnessing the culture of people of Rajshahi. We will drive to the airport and take a flight to Dhaka. Depending upon our flight time, we can visit some of the fantastic places left near Dhaka in the evening. The local fish market is a place where you can try some delicacies and watch some local trading techniques too. Overnight at Dhaka.
We will leave Bangladesh and head towards the third part of our tour to Kathmandu today. After landing in the Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, you will meet a representative from Asia experience. We will head straight to your hotel in Thamel from the airport. In the evening you can take a walk around exploring the local lifestyle and art around Thamel. Try some Nepali style dinner, and rest for the day back at your hotel. Overnight at Thamel, Kathmandu.
Our day today will focus on the rich history and culture of the Kathmandu valley hovering around five of the UNESCO World Heritage sites here. We will start our day with a short drive to the foot of Swyambhunath temple. A short Hike takes us to the top of this majestic temple treating us with great views of the Kathmandu valley and beyond. We will then visit the major Hindu Shrine of Pashupatinath next. After some time here in the banks of holy Bagmati River, we will take our lunch and head towards the center of Tibetan Buddhism in the valley, Boudhanath Stupa. In the peaceful surrounding full of positive vibes, you can try some Tibetan cuisine here. From the stupa, we will take a short drive towards the city of Patan. We will visit some of the major places here centering the Patan Durbar Square. After exploring the bases of Newari architecture here, we will return to our hotel. Overnight at Kathmandu.
We can take a short drive from the hotel early to visit the village of Nagarkot in the outskirt hills of Bhaktapur city. From the view tower here, we can have a great view of surrounding hills and Himalayas in the far north. Returning from here, we will fly/drive to Chitwan today. The scenic route in Chitwan introduces us to a whole different geographical and vegetation diversity from Kathmandu. After reaching Chitwan, we can take a local village tour and experience the lifestyle in the Plain lands of Nepal. Overnight at Chitwan.
Our Chitwan tour is a perfect mix of nature, wildlife, and culture with many moments to remember for a long time. After breakfast, we will take our permits to the Chitwan National park and enter it. We can either take an elephant or a jeep safari to explore the National Park area. This safari gives you the opportunity to witness some rare animals and birds in the world. The primary encountering experience must be of the one-horned rhinoceros and Royal Bengal tigers in the park. After the safari, we can also visit the hatchery and breeding centers of the park premises. In the evening, you will attend a cultural program from the locals, including some of the local cuisine. You can rest for the day in the hotel after enjoying the Tharu culture showcase back in your hotel. Overnight at Chitwan.
Early today you can head back to the park for an optional bird watching tour. Alongside over 500 local species, you can also spot different migratory birds from the cold northern countries here. After returning from the trip, we will take the return flight/drive to Kathmandu. You will visit some other great attractions in the valley starting with the Kathmandu Durbar Square in your spare time after arrival. The Kumari temple, Temples of Bhairab, ruins of Kastamandap, and many other beautiful monuments are the attraction of the square.
