The serene natural beauty of all three countries adds even more color to a region of untouched beauty.

We begin in Nepal, with some leisurely days on a guided tour throughout The Kathmandu Valley. A living museum, Kathmandu is lavished with unique temples, ancient shrines and important pilgrimage sites. Over these days we visit the temple squares of past kings of Patan, Kathmandu and Bhaktapur. The pilgrimage sites of PashaputinathBouddanath and Swoyambunath speak volumes of the religious significance of Buddhism and Hinduism in Nepal.

The second stage of the journey starts with a superb flight over the Himalayas to Lhasa, in the heart of TibetThe following two days are spent discovering the wealth of cultural treasures. Lhasa holds Potala Palace, Jokhang temple, Barkhor BazaarSera Monastery and Norbulinka among others. We leave Lhasa on the fourth day to visit the beautiful turquoise freshwater Yamdrok Lake, sitting mystically still and surrounded by snow-capped mountains.

Our last peek of the region's treasures takes us on a further Trans Himalayan flight to Bhutan “The Land of the Thunder Dragon”. Bhutan is the last Shangri-La, basically hidden from the outside world to this day. We begin in Thimphu, Bhutan’s tiny capital, with excursions from our hotel to its important tourist sites. There follow two wonderful days to both Punakha Dzong over the Dochu La Pass, and Bhutan’s National treasure, the Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) monastery. The ornate temple complex is perched precariously on the cliffside of the upper Paro Valley. With our tour of Nepal Tibet Bhutan Tour almost complete, we fly back to Kathmandu for a farewell evening meal the following day.

Recommended routes to take for traveling between Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan

One can start their journey from any of these three places, however, starting from Nepal is considered as most beneficial as Tibet and Bhutan both are easily accessible through flight and overland drive from here. Here are three routes to consider for the Nepal Bhutan and Tibet Tour.

Route 1: Starting from Nepal- 'The Best and Hassle-free Route

  • Your route commences with a tour of Nepal and from here you can select either Bhutan or Tibet as your next destination. You will return back to Kathmandu and you can choose to Fly or drive to the next destination. We will handle your visa and permits completely if you choose this route to travel.
  • Starting from Nepal is your best option because
    • There are no direct flights from Tibet to Bhutan and vice versa
    • Applying for the travel permits and Visa for both Tibet and Bhutan is easier from here.
    • The flights to Tibet/Bhutan run daily and at least 3-4 times a week in low tourist season.
    • Acclimatizing is better through this route in comparison with the other two
  • After completion of the tour, you can depart back home through either Bhutan or Tibet.

Route 2: Arrival in Bhutan (Fly to Nepal- Fly/Overland to Tibet)

  • The route commences after landing in Paro, Bhutan. Paro airport is approachable from Bangkok, New Delhi, Dhaka (Bangladesh), Singapore or Kathmandu (Nepal). You can arrive here through any of the above nations after taking the availability of flights under consideration.
  • After exploring the planned places and sites in Bhutan, you will either fly to Kathmandu from Paro. The flight is about an hour long and runs daily (3-4 times a week off-season). After arrival, you will visit the destinations as mentioned in the selected itinerary in Nepal.
  • Upon completing the Nepal portion of the trip, you can either drive or fly to Tibet from here. The flight takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes and overland tour extends to three extra days going through Rongbuk/Everest Base Camp, Shigatse, and Gyantse cities of Tibet. You will continue the exploration and depart after the conclusion of the tour from Tibet.
  • We will take care of all the necessary visas Chinese (Tibet) visa will be applied on your first day in Kathmandu, It needs a minimum of 3 working days to get.)

Route 3: Arrival in Tibet (Overland/flight to Nepal- Flight to Bhutan (Via Kathmandu)

  • The route commences after reaching Lhasa, Tibet. You can arrive here through flights or from the trains connecting Tibet from different cities of China.
  • After exploring the planned places and sites in Tibet, you will either fly or drive to Kathmandu and the latter is also one of the best overland tours of Asia. The flight is about 1:15 hours long and goes over the Himalayas to Kathmandu. After arrival, you will visit the destinations as mentioned in the selected itinerary in Kathmandu.
  • You will fly to Bhutan and the flight takes place daily (in some selected conditions 3-4 times a week in minimum). The flight is about 60 minutes long and takes you to Paro Airport in Bhutan. You will continue the exploration and depart after the conclusion of the tour from Bhutan.
  • You must manage the Chinese Visa by yourself prior to the tour from your respective nation. We will manage your Bhutan visa in advance and Nepal visa will get upon your arrival in Kathmandu (Nepal).

Documents to own Before/During the Travel

  1. Tibet Travel Permit (TTP)
TTP is mandatory for visitors of any nation entering or exploring Tibet. You must have a valid passport and Chinese Visa to apply for this permit and it can be done only through registered tour operators (Individual unobtainable). It's best to apply 2-3 weeks before the trip for assurance of the timely arrival of TTP.
  2. Chinese Visa
Chinese Visa is compulsory to enter any region of China or Tibet. There is no Visa on arrival (VOA) service so each traveler must apply for it from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, before entering mainland China from your home.
  3. Bhutan Visa
As the Bhutanese embassy is only present in five nations around the world, you will have to book through a registered travel agency for the visa. After the tour is booked, the agency will have the visa processed with the Bhutanese immigration department in Thimphu, Bhutan.
  4. Nepalese visa (Visa on Arrival)
Apparently, you can pre-process for the Nepalese Visa from the Nepalese embassy from your nation or get a visa on arrival in the TIA, Kathmandu (Tribhuwan International Airport) or any land borders entering from India/China. The process is quick and easy.

Very readily with organised trips – Nepal Tibet overland & Bhutan

Dear Netra and Umesh, Now as I make my way back to the UK, I can pause for breath and think about the trip we did. First of all, thanks very much for taking us out to dinner on our last night in Nepal. It was a very pleasant evening, great food and company. It was a kind gesture and one that does not come very readily with organised trips.
Secondly, thanks very much to both of you for your helpful, insightful and prompt responses, with the putting together of this trip. When I started putting feelers out, I had narrowed the research down to 2 companies. You came out on top for the points mentioned above.
This trip was one, Masako and I had talked about for over a year, probably closer to 18 months. Again, as I begin to reflect and look at photos, I am overwhelmed at what we achieved in a relatively short time. We also had a brilliant, smoothly run trip. This is a huge credit to you both and your organisational skills and research.
Thanks for your photos of the flight over Mt. Everest. I will attach one I took at sunrise and of our last day in Bhutan.
Thanks again for your assistance in making this a brilliant trip.
I can thoroughly recommend your company to fellow travelers.
Until next time,

our guest at nagarkot tour

A life changing experience – Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan

Dear Netra, After many years of talking about traveling to these 3 destinations, we finally took the jump. What seemed like places so far away on the other side of the world and cultures so foreign to us from the west, at first was a bit daunting. This was the first time ever in our travels that I did not do any research or prepare a detailed itinerary (usually spend an entire month or so organize) Because of the region, we knew this was not possible to do on our own with the logistics of visas, flights, and booking accommodations but also knowing the what to see and where to go when. Your communication was perfect and the itinerary you custom put together for us was more than we expected. It was thoughtful and everyday was well planned. It allowed for rest and nothing was rushed. On top of that, the tour guides who took care of us were incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating. We have even become friends with some of them. We could not have had such an immersive special experience without them. We learned about more than just the surface sights but a lot about history, culture, food, religion, politics, and the arts. Our drivers were patient and high skilled in navigating the roads. We will share our travel stories and memories with our friends and family and cannot wait to return again to the region. Thank you again for making our vacation invaluable with such special memories. Anyone looking to travel to this region should absolutely be confident they will be well taken care of by Asia Experiences.

Excellent Service, Thoughtful and Professional

We (My friend and me) surfed a whole lot seeking for some popular agencies in Nepal. We decided to take no consideration when it came to professionalism in services. From our first words to the assistance we knew that Asia experiences were a perfect match for our south Asian visit. The reviews and ratings were just the overviews and I happen to find an actual blog written by one of the previous travelers too. We communicated and sought for advice both professional as well as personal and headed towards the TIA airport the next month. The hotels we stayed were top class, and we got to admit that the Asian foods we tried were a little spicy. However, we also had a range of different cuisines to choose from. I was also amazed to find the photography and English speaking skills impressive from Asia Experiences guides. We needed and god the detailed expense list and found the assistance of the agency worth every penny. We want to thank Asia experiences and especially Mr. Umesh for this smooth and perfect vacation. If you want to avoid complications and have a professional aid by your side choose Asia Experiences.

Reaching for the horizon when you have trustworthy agency

As a traveler young in heart and an aging body, I was in doubt that whether I can push further and add a new chapter in my travel diaries with this 14 days tour of Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan. With my previous experiences, I knew the importance of having a proper agency to back me up in my journey. I was lucky to find a couple back from the tour of these countries a few days back in the local cafeteria. By their help, I was able to connect with the Asia experiences tour. As days came nearer to y arrival at Kathmandu, I asked numerous questions and communicated with the agency. They were of great help to keep my morale high. From the TIA to every other destination to come, the agency and guides completely aided me. From different hidden photographic locations to myths and legends of my destinations, I was provided a complete insight about them. With the Help of Mr. Umesh from Asia Experiences, I was also able to get extra privileges at the Hotels and Lodges. My guides acted as my extra limb as I took on the journey from the plains to the marshlands and high hills. I will suggest Asia Experiences for travelers of all ages and taste.

Nepal Bhutan Tour- Great and humble tour assistance

I still remember the first time I called Asia Experiences for aid. It was noon here in Boston, but I didn't realize that it would be a late night in Nepal. However, their customer case assistance was humble and took no time on my queries to visit this group of nations. I love traveling around the world, and in my many traveling stories there are some negative parts too. However, with the assistance and proper guidance of Asia experiences I could enjoy my trip to the fullest. Mrs. Dipa was very polite and yet professional as I knew I was a handful of curious traveler who wanted a lot. In my short time here I thought I was able to know central Asia better than before with the courtesy of my amazing guides from Asia Experiences. I suggest and approve this agency as one of the best and straightforward companies you will find in Nepal. So better be safe than sorry, with Asia experiences holidays.

Tibet, Nepal, and Bhutan- Much more than you hear

Being a solo traveler, I was in a dilemma on whether to take these nations head on alone or ask for some assistance. With the costly offers running the market I was able to give up when a friend of mine suggested Asia Experience. I thank him even today as the experience I had in this Journey was worth every penny. Walking through the hills and the tight streets, my guide made it all possible as only I knew that I would have missed so much of those without Ashish (Nepal), Pemba (Tibet), and Tashi (Bhutan). The great thing was that my guides were well trained and experienced. They also had mastered the local languages in many of their visits. The memories and beautiful stories of reaching each destination were possible with Asia Experience and their pristine group of guides. I approve and suggest Asia experiences for solo travels as it is cost-efficient and professional.

Incredibly good company and surreal customer assistance

To be honest, we came to this idea of going to the vacation in Asia in a short notice, and we(My wife and me) really didn't expect that was possible. With fate or coincidence, we happen to take suggestions from the customer assistance of Asia Experiences. The whole process of query and answer was so smooth that the company made us realize. It's never too late. And Bam! The very next week we were in Kathmandu doing the Nepal-Tibet-Bhutan tour. We asked hundreds of questions before and during the tour, and all of them were eager to help us with our curiosity and sometimes even stubbornness. We are so happy to choose the tour, and we are pumped up for another. Thank you Asia Experiences for aiding us and making this whole trip possible in such short notice.
