Currently, there is only one direct flight available to Lhasa from Kathmandu or vice versa which operates every Monday (by Himalayan Airlines) until March 25, 2024. According to informal reports, additional two flights are scheduled to operate direct flights starting from April 2024 resulting in daily flights which is good news. In the event that these flights are not scheduled, Travelers have two options at present either taking a flight to Kathmandu/Lhasa via Chengdu or an additional 4-day long overland tour. During an overland tour, Rongbuk Monastery/EBC with a view of Mount Everest, Shigatse, Gyantse, etc., are prime attractions.

Land at Kathmandu international airport. Our staff will receive you and accompany to the hotel. Today you can relax or enjoy the traditional and crowded markets of the Kathmandu city. You will definitely enjoy realizing how a congested market holds every detail items that attract the people. Old shops with traditional items are the best experience for most of the people in these local markets.
Today we will encounter the most distinct tradition and culture of Nepal. We start from Kathmandu Durbar Square, the site is famous for old monuments and temples. Durbar square is in the heart of Kathmandu city and is mostly crowded with locals, you can also admire and watch the local lifestyle here. If you are lucky enough then you may get a glimpse of living Goddess Kumari and the beautiful carved house.
Next, we head towards Swayambhunath temple located on top of the hill. The temple is also known as monkey temple as you will find many monkeys on your way to temple. It is the beautiful and oldest shrine in Nepal and the best place to view the Kathmandu city and relax at the top.
An option to fly above the great Himalayas using the modern jet-stream aircraft and a view from 25000 feet is undoubtedly amazing. A close view of Makalu, Cho-Yu, Lhotse, Mt. Everest and Tibet is worth watching from aircraft. You will enjoy the view of white snow mountains, lake, and Glaciers from the flight. An alternate of Helicopter can also be available.
Post breakfast we will head towards Nagarkot. A drive through suburb will take you to Nagarkot, place well known in Nepal for a beautiful sunset and sunrise. View of Himalayan range from Nagarkot on a clear day would be pleasant for your eyes.
Post breakfast you have two choices first a descent to Bhaktapur then to Nala or a second choice would be an ascent to Nagarkot tower then a steep path downwards to Nala.
Dhulikhel is a beautiful small town with a view of Himalayan range. It is also popular for few temples and the view of mountains from the ridge in Dhulikhel. You can enjoy the day walk and get to know the local culture in Dhulikhel. Most of the people in this town are Newars and are known for rich cuisine and friendly nature.
This square is one of the most prominent places to visit in Kathmandu. It is an open Museum with stunning sculptures around. The square is famous for courtyards, royal bath, Shikhara style temples, and pagodas. The monument that you will see here are the best examples of art and culture in Nepal. Close to Durbar Square sightseeing of various other arts is available, a five storied temple with amazing architecture is an eye catching the view. The traditional painting school attracts many visitors every day, the pottery square and the peacock windows are the best view in Bhaktapur. The local life of Bhaktapur and the traditional market is the most highlighted to view in Bhaktapur.
You will land at Lhasa airport today where a Tibetan guide will take you to the hotel. We can take rest to adapt to the altitude of 14,000 feet above sea level.

Next on the list is Sera Monastery the art in this Monastery is the most beautiful sight to view. The hall holds scriptures written with golden powder and debates are also held in these halls.
Jokhang temple, it is the most famous Buddhist Temple in Tibet and is a world heritage site. it was also known as the house of mysteries in the past. You can see Indian approach in style but a combination of Nepalese and Tibetans can also be seen. The bronze roof and statues of golden deer are best experiences to observe in this tour.
We start our day by visiting Drepung Monastery, the largest monastery in Tibet.The foundation of this Monastery was laid on 1416. It is one of the great three Monastery, the other two are Ganden and Serahen. Norbulingka Palaces: built on 1755 as a summer residence by Seventh Dalai Lama is the most beautiful site to visit. The Palace became more attractive after the 14th Dalai Lama added Chappels and fountains. The Palace built by 14th Dalai Lama is the most attractive as it is a blend of Tibetan and Western culture. Norbulingka is the world heritage site and a lovely place to visit.

Patan Durbar Square is the oldest among other Durbar squares in Kathmandu. You can see the beautiful monuments of Hindu and Buddhist culture, admire the Royal Palace Square and surrounding shrines. The crafts at this visit are quite astonishing and the floor crafted with red bricks make the place more beautiful to gaze at. The main temples are positioned opposite of western face of the Palace at Patan Durbar Square. The place also holds old Newari house which is quite striking. The Krishna temple made of stone and the ancient Stupas and Monasteries has added a more attractive look to this place.
Pashupatinath Temple: One of the holiest temples of Lord Shiva is the most famous temple for Hindus all over the world. The temple stands just above the bank of Bagmati River and across the river, you can see an abundance of many small temples. The gold plated roof is an attractive feature of the temple. The Bagmati River is the sacred river for Hindus and in the banks, you can see cremation of bodies as well.
Boudhanath Stupa: The Buddhist Stupa located in Boudhanath is one of the biggest in the world. It is the most sacred temple for Buddhist of the world. The Stupa is said to entomb the remains of Kassapa Buddha. As Boudhanath is among the UNESCO Heritage Sites it has many visitors. It is encircled by many Monasteries around and a blend of Tibetan culture can also be seen in Boudhanath area.
