Rinpung Dzong

Rinpung Dzong is a large and beautiful dzong and monastery in Paro district. Built in the 16th century, Rinpung Dzong is intact with towering walls and majestic overall architecture. Translated in Bhutanese as the Fortress on a Heap of Jewels, this Dzong hosts a Dugba of Kagyu school in Paro district. One has to visit this alluring Dzong for peeking into the deep-rooted Bhutanese traditions. Rinpung Dzong is also in Bhutan’s tentative list of the UNESCO sites. Many scenes of the Italian- French drama film Little Buddha was also filmed here.
