Rinpung Dzong

Rinpung Dzong is a large and beautiful dzong and monastery in the Paro district, Bhutan. Built in the 16th century, this Dzong is intact with towering walls and majestic overall architecture. Translated in Bhutanese as the Fortress on a Heap of Jewels, this Dzong hosts a Dugba of Kagyu school in the Paro district.

One has to visit this alluring Dzong to peek into the deep-rooted Bhutanese traditions. Rinpung Dzong is also on Bhutan’s tentative list of UNESCO sites. Many scenes of the Italian-French drama film Little Buddha were also filmed here.
