Jambay Lhakhang is one of the oldest temples that was founded in the 7th century. There is a myth that the king had to build 108 temples in a day to clear the demons from the Himalayas. The temple is among the 108 temples built by the king. The remnants of Jowo Jampa (Maitreya), the future Buddha are present in the temple. More than a hundred statues of the Gods of Kalachakra are a sight to enjoy in the temple.
One of the most famous festivals known as Jambay Lhakhang Drup is presented in the temple. This festival is performed for five days and the fire rituals are an extremely famous ritual to gaze at. The crowds from the valleys gather to watch the ritualized naked dance.
